    It's a lot closer to horror than some of the other Swamp Thing books I read this week (and pretty graphic, too), but I don't like the way they've retooled the mythology. Also, frankly, Alec is boring.

    Just a beginning. Shouldn't even be sold as a separate book, because it doesn't go anywhere or even develop characters enough to allow the reader to decide if the series is worth pursuing. Too bad so many comics are sold like this, rather illegitimately. It's a bad practice.The art is good.

    Didn't like the "But I don't want superpowers" back and forth between Alec and The Green but the story was interesting and William is just freaky (in cool, horror sort of way). I'll read more if hubby happens to bring more home or if I find back issues on sale but Swamp Thing isn't a must continu...
