This is a good book to teach the children how to plant and the way to make plants grow and give their fruits.

A child and his/her father grow the ingredients for vegetable soup. The child describes each step, and everything in the book is labeled, like tools and plants. The book would be a great way to begin a class garden and possibly a great pairing with "Seedfolks" by Paul Fleischman.
