Moen T6708 Chrome two-handle bathroom faucet

After installation, I turned on the water and the faucet would flow in two or three streams, versus one beautiful flow. What is going on. Is this defective?

I loved the look of this faucet and it looks beautiful in my bathroom. I am giving 2 stars because it's corroding on the bottom metal that surrounds where the water comes out. I've had this faucet for maybe 8 months!

Bought these after seeing them at a friends house (wished I had turned them on before purchasing) since they look great/stylist but as many others have said, they splash all over in use. Hoping there's a fix that a Moen Representative can provide.
