Beautiful marble palm size mortar . pestle is comfortable to hold and use. the marble is heavy and smooth. grinds dry catnip to a fine powder,,,what i got it to do. i think it would work as well, or better , as any set , on anything. i recommend.

I only grind spices in small amounts so the size works well for me ....there are grooves on the side that make the grinding easier you just slide the pestle down the edges and it does a fine job grinding .... yes a coffee grinder would be easier but I like the authenticity of this from my Curri...

This is very heavy and well made. It works great in grinding my herbs for cooking or my leaves for tea. The color is as it looks. This one is very large, you may not need one this big if you only use a few herbs at a time.

I bought this for my son-in-law for Christmas. I really like the grooves on the inside that will help crush dried spices.
