Its metal and it looks like metal. The color is more cream than white had to spray paint it with rustoleum white hammered, it gave it a look more like ceramic. It came dented from shipping and new scratches on the stands.

Only 3 stars because the color is cream, not white. I got them late this fall and didn't use them, but plan to spray paint them white next spring. Tbe shape and size of the planters and stands are great!

So cheaply made . Color is given as white, they are more a antique white or cream in color. Dented and so poorly made. Will return.
