This item does not lean back or raise up much at all. It does not come close to being level to an average desk height.

Love this chair! Easy set up with easy adjustability. One of the arms has a weird texture but not a big deal. My biggest complaint is the caps that are used to hide the screws are an off white so they don't really match the chair.
