The desk is nice. All drawers lock with one key. The drawers are thin, but will accommodate the typical weights for that type of drawer. This is not a show desk to impress high end professional clients. It is a cheap get it done desk. I expect it to last 10 years of daily use.

While it is true that the top isn't metal it is a very thick heavy top. I never liked the pressboard or MDF it may look like real wood, but over time it tends to fall apart. I looked at real wood desks, but the price was too much. Then I saw this steel desk and for the price I couldn't pass it up...

This is a low-level quality desk. It is ok for a 1 year use in a construction office trailer, which is what it was purchased for. Middle drawer does not stay closed unless locked, and constantly hits one in the stomach. Drawers open roughly and do not glide as a nicer desk would.
