I will have to return this lamp as it does not have enough wattage to give my mom who has macular degeneration enough light to see what little she can see.

I use this particular lamp in my sewing room. When you change out the bulb that comes with it, you have decent lighting, using the 200W bulb has no effect in a room. My recommendation would be to not let the lamp burn too long at one time since you are using a higher wattage bulb.

Went together fairly easy, but when I tried it, I was disappointed. No light! At least not enough light. I specifically chose a halogen lamp because of experience with an earlier version of this lamp. It put out some light!!! Unfortunately, this one doesn't. Boooooooooo!
