Squirrels figured it out right away. The lid is not too heavy for them to lift. No air tight. Heavy rain will dampen the food. BUt a great purchase. PRice is the best around for a cedar feeder.

Squirrel Snacker is excellent quality and the squirrels love it. This feeder keeps Blue Jay birds from stealing the peanuts. Squirrels learned to use it within 30 minutes.
