Apple computers have to have full sine wave power or they draw excessive current and shut down a normal UPS. This is the least expensive APC UPS with sine wave output. Kind of pricey, but it does the job. Only had it a week and have had two power bumps. No need to restart the computer.

This Smart-UPS is perfect for most installations where varying power requirements, coupled with ease of monitoring and maintenance is required. I find the abundance of protected outlets a huge plus, particularly when some of the connections are made with wall-warts.
