Now we've definitely hit our stride. The first proper City Watch book is a classic. Vetinari is not quite right yet though. There's a bit too much monloguing, whereas in later books good old Havelock keeps his cards close to his chest.

Amazingly good. Pratchett's books are all good but this one is exceptional. It's got everything, adventure, magic, human redemption, the care and husbandry of dragons, and even a bit of a love story.
