Not as bright from the side. So some lights will appear brighter than others from a distance. LEDs should also last much...

I love these dome lights. 1. They don't get hot, so I can leave them on all day without worrying about them burning the tree down. 2. They cast these fun circles on the wall. Like a Christmas disco. 3. These two strands covered our 8 foot tree with length to spare. Highly recommend them.
