I disagree with the reviewers who say that children nowadays don't get sent on errands by themselves. Some children, it's true, have overprotective parents. But some parents know that children can handle a trip to the grocery store... if they can focus on the list!

The mother tells her son to get four items from town. He takes off but as he sees different things on his way he forgets the items. On his way home we remembers the items but still forgets the bacon! A cute book for young children. It has very simple text, but quite dated illustrations.

Total seventies illustrations, a little boy is sent to the grocery with a list. He keeps repeating the list to himself transposing letters, adding things, forgetting things, getting the list completely muddled. Of course he forgets the bacon.
