I'm not sure what the point of this was, other than to serve as a snapshot of 1920s New York society. It wasn't *bad*, there just wasn't a lot to it. It felt more like a short story than a novel, and the line in the synopsis, "with heartbreaking consequences for all" ends up looking a little over...

A very slight book, in length as well as plot and characterization, about some young women in the 1920's. Would have made a much better short story.
