We've had "put it together" furniture before... and it always looks nice at first, but they are inexpensive... you get what you pay for. This desk looked good in the picture and at first I thought it was a little high priced. It took two of us to carry the box into the house... it was that heavy....

This is actually a beautiful desk I purchased for my 16 yr old son. The instructions and time it took to put together was long about 6 hours. All and all it turned out very nice and my son loves it. It was also packaged very well with no damage.
