This is a great book for children. A teacher could use this book during the fall when pumpkins are all around. A teacher could also bring in pumpkins and maybe carve a few with the class. I think children would really love this book and the many interactions a teacher could do with it.

My favoite thing about this book is that when I finished reading it to my five year old grandchild her immediate reaction was, "Let's write a sequel to this book." Reading that inspires writing---it doesn't get much better.
