I use this regularly for tea or water when I am working outside. It keeps trash and bugs out of my drink. It does leak when the jar is laid over.

If you like drinking out of glass containers and using lids but get tired of having to replace the whole thing if you break/lose something, this is an amazing alternative. Fits on a different sizes of Ball mason jars and doesn't leak. Hole is big enough to fit a straw through.
