Beware of new publications that have "Common Core" as part of the title. Most of the time it is rehashed to stuff into the box. This book has some great primary sources. However, I think this is a 6-7th resource, but does not have the reading level or length of passages to be used for second semester 7th or 8 th students. Good beginner but definitely not rigorous enough for 8th.
