My desktop has a bunch of USBs, but all of them USB-2 only. So I use this 4-port card for to connect external USB-3 hard drives and another USB-3 interfaces. Works perfectly! Just stick it inside and that's all. Satisfied very much.

I added this port to an older dual core pentium machine that was built with USB 1 and USB 2 ports. The machine is used as a file server running a Linux operating system. I'm using external USB drives for backups and the speed of the file transfers to the backup drives was increased significantly.
