I didn't find the suggestions in this Lonely Planet useful, nor I found it a valuable source of ideas on where to go. Everything mentioned in the guide is almost a must see, when if fact it might not be worth the bus journey so I didn't find this guide useful for India. You'd better look elsewher...

A bit old but Lonely Planet quality. Histories, good maps, photographs. Even if you can't make the tirp right now a good place for some vicarious traveling.
