I very much enjoy the Wild Cards series, but this particular installment, not so much. The rest of the series, even though each different character is written by a different author, seems to flow seamlessly through each book, however, this one is jarringly different.

This one really sticks to the setting around a police station and that of an investigation. A few of the Aces introduced back in Inside straight make a "cameo" appearance briefly.
