This story is a straight-forward mystery set in a country house filled with likely suspects. Ms. Heyer makes it enjoyable because her characters are interesting and some are even sympathetic. Nice, quick read.

good story. she switched from using first names to last names all the time, adding ranks and titles sometimes. this was confusing. there was a very strange anti-semitic section. but the mystery was well designed although i can't believe that someone can't recognize an ex-spouse at least by voice....
