      This is almost indistinguishable from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. On the plus side is the 1930s setting; on the minus side, it's not as funny. But it's entertaining, so if you like Dresden, you'll like Mick.

      Interesting book. Imagine the characters of "Lord of the Rings" set in 1930s Chicago. The middle of the book, which focused on the "Otherworld" was a bit tedious. But the beginning, and especially the end, were good.
