A light and entertaining read but not as good as the 2 other Laurie Graham novels I've read - At Sea and The Future Homemakers of America. It relies rather too heavily on stereotypical characters although that is a deliberate part of the humour of the book.

Wasn't sure who 'The Unfortunates' were supposed to be, I think it was the main character, although she was born into a very wealthy American family they had to deny the fact they were Jewish and the gave her a very sheltered upbringing which left her ill equipped to deal with adult life.
