Could not point it at the ceiling above my desk as my old, decrepit 30-year old one could do.  This bright light pointed towards the ceiling gives nearily the uniform nondirectional light from above that I wanted.

Works well at a good price.  Can change the bulb to whatever brightness is needed. The clamp keeps the lamp firmly in place on my desk.  I use it to provide front lighting for zoom meeting from my desktop.

I received the light just as described. It seems to be well built. I have used it for a week with no complaints.Only time will tell the longevity of the light.
