Great choice for the first book of the new year! exciting story and done in a interesting way - alien invasion apocalypse in a young adult style. A few 'reminders' of ideas from famous sci-fi alien stuff, TV mostly, but enough of its own to not matter. Some reviewers on here dislike the sappy way...
