I think, truth would be a theme in this short story. The prince can see through all the fake princesses, until the last one comes to him. He knows shes telling the truth about being a princesses because "nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that!"

The Princess and the Pea was not very romantic. The illustrations were enjoyable and the characters seemed interesting but the story line was a little slow. The illustrations show how sad he felt while trying to search for a true princess. This is a very simple story but a little complex as well....
