    If you like to read for story, then this book isn't for you - unless you use the word story with a lot of flexibility. The Deep reads like 4 or 5 nosleep-type little vignettes tied together loosely with gore taffy cut and pasted from Carpenter's The Thing. If that sounds like something you'd like...

    I'm terrified of the deep ocean so this should have scared me more than it did. It was OK. Claustrophobic and had some squishy/nasty bits. Worth reading but not great.
