First of all, they are not bright gold, more of a muted brassy gold which is wonderful. There is no real assembly, except to unpack the glass tops and set them in. They are nice quality. Looks good. The only thing is that there is tape on both tops and when you peel it off it leaves a residue that is very difficult to get off. Overall, I would buy again.
