Nnu Ego, the daughter of a fiercely independent woman and a powerful man. I thought the most fascinating part of the book were the chapters describing Nnu Ego's mother who refused to be sub-ordinate to any man. Nnu Ego makes the transition of a rural family-oriented society to an urban "white" ci...

This is a fine novel. I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up on a school syllabus at some point. Overall, this is a very engaging book.
