Nice and small to fit into a small space, like I was looking for. Real wood, and there wasn't any assembly at all to do. It comes with these little black pips on top you can remove, that make it look like it's stackable, but the instructions warn not to stack another on top.

Very nice bookcase! No assembly was a HUGE PLUS! I had a piece of plywood cut to size to place on top where the knobs are showing. I sanded it down really well to prevent splinters, I put a couple coats of primer on
