Yes, the picture shows a wooden base and it ended up being marble. Still cute, but not what I was expecting.

It's cute, however, the light bulb pokes out the top of the lampshade and is 2 inches shorter than its supposed to. You also can't see the string either. It does not look like the photos and if you like light bulbs visible from the top of the lampshade, then it should work for you. I bought this ...

Love this table lamp, especially for the price. Very sleek and modern. Only slight downside was that the lamp shade had a couple minor dents- nothing major.
