The base is very heavy..very sturdy. Light has 3 options u can have only top light..only 2 small lights on or all 3. Very elegant and extremely beautiful for the price. I put only 40 watts bulb on all 3 and very satisfied. The chord is very long and is silver in color which is cool than ugly black
