It is made for a smaller person. I would say 170 lbs or less. I like it also because the arms extend toward the front of the seat, so I am able to use them to help me stand up, being slightly disabled.

I absolutely love this chair. It was very easy to put together unlike some I have purchased online. It's very pretty and very comfortable, too! Easy to keep clean with damp cloth. I treat the leather monthly.
