Tarnished City is the second installment in this series. I loved the first book Gilded Cage and sometimes the sequels can disappoint. Not here! The second was just as good. This book cannot be read as a standalone. I liked the first book in this ya trilogy but I was bored by this installment - politics, torture, mild romance and too many characters. I skimmed to the end and I'm probably done with the series.
