This is "galvanized steel". It's metal. But it doesn't feel or look cheap. Nice summer time tray. I like that it is deep so your items aren't in danger of falling off. It seems to be more for patio/balcony/outdoor use. However I'm using it as bed tray and is ideal. Highly recommend!
