Not red as pictured but a dark maroon. Not fluffy or soft as in other reviews but pilled and rough. The shipment originated from "Return Center" so also questionably new. I returned it but what a waste of precious time. Bad rug, bad experience.

save your money ! this is the worst rug I have ever purchased!!!!it is nothing but fuzzy shedding mess, plugs up a vacuum cleaner no matter how many times it is gone over! leaves nothing but fuzz all over !!!

The photo indicates this rug is a medium or cherry red. In person, it is a faded burgundy, a little dingy looking. The texture is a very short shag. Color good, size, overall quality for price good. Some imperfections in the color (like spots of different colored wool in an overall solid field.)
