This lamp does not take up a lot of space but looks over my shoulder and gives light to my magazines and newspapers It eliminates the need for an overhead light and even the small table lamp pictured.

I needed a lamp for my office area that wouldn't glare on my monitors but would give enough light to allow my to take notes. With the opaque lamp shade the light only shines where I point it and not on my monitors. This reduces my eye strain significantly by not having an overhead light on.
