I loved the mix of very grand illustrations of the moon and the simple pictures of the family on earth watching the television coverage of the moon landing. This is an informative nonfiction book that reads like a picture book. I actually got a little teary eyed when they landed!

A beautiful, sstunning book. The words are simple and the pictures breath-taking. It is easy to see why this was a Sibert award winner. I think it should have received a Caldecott as well.
