It is hard to figure out but I appreciate the review that said to use the on line instructions. Just search for Dritz fix a zipper instructions. Basically the tool that is already inserted into the zipper slide allows you to open the entire slide and then depending on whether yours is an open...

The zipper itself was fine but the diecast slider broke and I could not reattach the pull on my favorite heavy weight hoodie. Make sure the situation is right and its a #5 zipper, follow the online instructions and this will work! thanks Dritz great product!

Although it didn't come with directions, we had it installed in about five minutes with use of some force! So happy I don't have to replace my luggage!
