I bought this reel out of peer pressure, My friends kept making fun of my Zebco 404. The very first cast went about 6 inches and stopped. I took the cover off and discovered the line was getting caught on the a rough machine mark left on the spool during manufacture...bad quality control.

This piece of junk started dragging bad when reeling it after catching a few small fish with it. I noticed the cheap low quality of it right out of the packaging, I wish I would have returned it then.

On the very first fishing trip the handle came off in the middle of a throw and fell right into the lake. Also the reel did not release the line every time you let go of the release button, causing the whole reel to jam. Not a very good reel.
