We have used the 9 foot Bigwater spin rods for several years at Christmas Island for casting poppers for giant trevally, yellowfin tuna and wahoo. The rods work very well for that purpose and they just hold up.

Rigged it with Shimano Sahara 4000FB. Made catches more exciting off NC piers. Plenty sensitive rod. Strong. Enuff reel to pull in average fish that I'm likely to get on. Very satisfied. My 3rd Ugly Stik.
