Ibvb use them for everything from surf, wade, shore, and kayak fishing... Got the DX versions for the better quality gear metal...

I have multiple Penn 6000 & 8000 reels - typically pair them with Shimano Trevalia's or St Croix. It puts the best together for a balanced, comfortable experience to put your focus where needed -- pulling in the fish!
