The knife is stainless steel type of material. I used it to cut cheddar cheese and meats. It works better on cutting cheeses, or cooked meats. The blade is sharp but not the point of slicing your fingers and hands open. It's ok, depending on what they' selling it for. Average.

This is a good medium size knife for just about any kitchen cutting task. I use it for slicing meat and for chopping vegetables. I like the fact that the handle is metal, making it sturdier than wood and less likely to carry germs.
