The second book in the Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier series. Moved straight on to this after finishing the first one, 'Dreadnaught' and inhaled it with gusto. The adventures of Admiral Geary and his once-again-lost-fleet continue. Good fun for all.

The saga continues. Having beaten one enemy, the rapidly deteriorating fleet now faces additional aliens some of which do not try to kill them The political picture is no less clear but it does seem that the fleet was sent out to die.

Maybe it's just me having enough of these series but it seems slower than usual. There are some annoying inconsistencies, for example, on what basis they decided that 'bear-cows' are potential food for predators? Just by the way they look? Anyhow, I will continue reading and hope that there will ...

Couldn't finish this one. It seemed flat and stagnant to me, which was a vast difference from the first several books in the series.

I still enjoy these books, but the titles have to improve! I understand that the 'Beyond the Frontier' series comes after the original six books, but since each book bears the title of a ship, its near impossible to figure out the order of the books. That being said, this is the 2nd book of the B...
