The description is somewhat deceptive. This is not a solid wood bookcase, but regather a veneered pressboard bookcase. Very disappointing when you are expecting solid wood, but decently made for what it is.

FIRST ! It arrived intact. The boxes were damaged a little, but the packing protected the contents. Next I labeled each piece based on the very detailed illustration. Great looking and seems to be built quite well. Far better than anything you can get at Wal-Mart. It was missing one of the metal inserts. But that isnt enough to drop it a star.

Easy to assemble if u just follow the instructions. Single panel sides and very nice backing, not the cheap cardboard stuff most book cases have. Definitely a 2 person lift when assembled. Very sturdy, great coloring of the materials, and very fast shipment.

One suggestion. When installing the back panels, you should instruct the assembler to be sure to push the two center panels tightly together before screwing the piece. We were disappointed to see a gap through which the tan tape was visible when we stood the bookcase up.
