The description is somewhat deceptive. This is not a solid wood bookcase, but regather a veneered pressboard bookcase. Very disappointing when you are expecting solid wood, but decently made for what it is.

This shelving was available at Home Depot but was sold out. Secured it from WalMart for less money, free delivery, etc., and assembly service was offered! Good product for those who cannot afford "real" wood", has plenty of room and seems durable, looks elegant and will serve well.

FIRST ! It arrived intact. The boxes were damaged a little, but the packing protected the contents. Next I labeled each piece based on the very detailed illustration. One suggestion. When installing the back panels, you should instruct the assembler to be sure to push the two center panels tightly together before screwing the piece. We were disappointed to see a gap through which the tan tape was visible when we stood the bookcase up.

The directions for this project were HORRIBLE and nothing was labeled. At the very end we had to take the back off and redo the the top and bottom pieces because they were uneven. Although we thought we we paid attention to the pictures, we ended up missing a step of attaching the mouldings becau...
