Shakespeare Contender Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

Very disappointed in the quality of this rod. First time out and the rod breaks near the tip. Wish I had read other reviews prior to getting this this combo. Had numerous other Shakespeare rods and never had problems. Not sure if I will go back to them.

I purchased this combo for my 11 year old son. The rod snapped instantly when he got caught up in some weeds. I certainly expected a better performance for this price.

Bought 1, it broke before I got to use it; got a replacement; it broke the 2nd time I used it. Both times it broke near the tip. I would not recommend this. Tried to add photo. Wouldn't load

Bought this combo for my son at Christmas, just got to take him out fishing 1st part of March. Noticed a clicking noise when he would turn the reel handle, gear noise inside reel, then he said his line was hanging up. found the rod eye insert had come out and the metal eye was broken. VERY DISAPO...

I was excited to purchase this pole because I thought with a name like Shakespeare I would be buying a high quality product... I was wrong. My first time using this I had the first fish of the day take my bait and when I went to set the hook, the rod snapped in half. Junk.
